I'm Alive

Well, Gentle Readers. I'm sure that many of you were convinced that I would never come back to this blog, that like many sites on the internet this would never be updated or continued. Between teaching, coaching and leading student clubs, I have had a difficult time finding time to return to you. But I live, and I have many more stories to share with you. To make maintaining this more feasible going forward, I have created a schedule for updates and am ready to continue both with Geekdom Reviews and "Did You Really Just Say That?". Geekdom Reviews will be on Saturdays and DYRJST will be on Sundays.

So I think I am ready to actually address this film. I know that it has been talked to death by most people, but this is my blog and I can write about what I want. So I am going to cover this from a variety of different view points. And split this review into  a number of posts.

First Year Teaching -- Did you really Just Say that?

Hello again, gentle readers. I apologize for the long silence. I have been experiencing the joys of being a first year teacher. Oh, what joys. For the most part the students are pretty good kids. It is a private school in a well-to-do suburb and very insulated. It has been interesting being the only real "Geek" on the campus. But it has definitely opened the door to some more wonderful Did You Really Just Say That.

So how many of you, my dear readers, have seen this new show on CBS?

As a modern interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes novels, it has been getting a lot of attention. This recent article in the Baker Street Blog caused me to add my two cents to the debate. Enjoy

Updates

Sorry about the long delay all. I have been very busy with my new job of filling inquiring young minds with knowledge. As this is my first year teaching, I wanted to make sure that I was doing the best that I can. But now that the semester is at an end, and I know what my schedule will be like for next semester, I will let you know that I will be returning to our regular reviewing on a somewhat set schedule. As of right now I plan to post a review once a week on Saturday nights. Look forward to seeing you then.

Dragon Con 2012

Well yesterday was the end of another wonderful DragonCon. I had a great time as usual. For those of you who were unable to attend you should check out the Daily Dragon for some really great highlights of this year's festivities.

As usual, I have come back from con with even more books. So be on the look out readers for more wonderful Geekdom Reviews later this week.
